Meet # 2: Peace Haven @ New Sherwood - Tuesday, June 13th

The New Sherwood Stingrays . For the seasoned Dolphins, you may remember, for our new Dolphin members, well we need to share the history. They are our neighbors, they are our friends, they live just across the way and they wear red. Stingrays have a wide wingspan and stingers. Dolphins are strong, strong swimmers!! We do have a wonderful history with these wide-winged stingers and it will be a fun night! Both of these teams show up READY TO RACE and WANTING TO WIN! Get ready Peace Haven Dolphins!! We are a team, we are a family, we show up with great sportsmanship and let’s work for that win!!

AFTER THE MEET - New Sherwood has invited us to stay for Pizza and a Movie post meet on the playground! They will show The Super Mario Bros Movie. Bring chairs, blankets, etc. for watching the movie. Please fill out the PIZZA PRE ORDER FORM so they can get an estimated head count to Dominos. Pre order payments (cash or check payable to New Sherwood Swim Team) should be brought to concessions by 6:30 PM. Further orders can be placed at the meet at the concessions table with payment until 6:30 PM. Pre orders unpaid by 6:30 will not be placed.

HEAT SHEET - The Heat Sheet and Meet Entries will be posted as soon as they are available. Team entries are completed and merged to create the meet after 11:30 AM on Meet day. The Heat Sheet will be sent by email, available on the Meet & Events page, and on the SwimTopia App. An alert notification will be sent once available.

VOLUNTEERS - Thanks to everyone for signing up to help. We are only in need of 1 more timer! When you arrive, check-in with Courtney Beaudry at our volunteer table.

PARKING - Parking is available in a paved parking lot behind the pool and in a gravel lot and grass field across from the pool. Parking attendants should be available to direct our families. A circle drive is available for unloading only - please no parking around this circle. Please be aware of the "No Parking” signs along Fernmarch Drive and in the adjacent Lytchfield condo neighborhood. If necessary, cars can park along the pool side of Allistair Road heading towards Peace Haven Road.

ARRIVAL - Dolphin Pod (Clerk of Course) volunteers should plan to arrive by 4:15PM to set up our Dolphin Pod and greet our 10&U swimmers. All others should plan to arrive by 4:30 PM to get set up, mark events, etc... If you need help, please seek a veteran parent or Dolphin Pod volunteer. We recommend you Mark Your Simmer prior to arrival to save time. Once entries are posted tomorrow, you will be able to see a snapshot of your swimmer’s events from the website (under June 13 Meet) or on the SwimTopia app. Please mark EHL grid clearly using a Sharpie on your swimmer's arm or leg AND write first initial last name and their age group on the back of their right shoulder.

DECK SEATING - New Sherwood has designated areas for Spectators vs Athletes. Swimmers are encouraged to set up their chairs and park their belongings in the TEAM AREA to prevent overcrowding on deck.

*Spectators - Peace Haven spectator area will be on the shallow side closest to guard hut/baby pool. New Sherwood spectators will be on the far side of the pool deck closer to diving board. Feel free to bring tents to cover your seating area if desired. New Sherwood will have loungers turned sideways for seating but you are encouraged to bring your own chairs.

*Athletes - New Sherwood has 2 tennis courts that will be used as PH and NS team areas. PH will have the far court and NS the near court. Bring your own chairs!

PLAYGROUND - The playground is open for use during the meet but is unsupervised. Parents are advised to monitor as necessary.

CONCESSIONS - Concessions will be set up on the playground blacktop area where other tables will be set up for eating. New SHerwood will offer hotdogs, chips, candy and drinks. All concession sales are CASH ONLY. Sunset Slush will be present during the meet. "Stingray Bucks” are awarded to all 10 and Under heat winners and are redeemable at concessions with a 25 cent value.

10 & UNDER SWIMMERS - The Dolphin Pod will be located on the tennis court towards the gate, along the fence that borders the pool. It will be VERY important to instruct your 10&U swimmers to remain in the Dolphin Pod with their assigned parent volunteer so they can easily be found when their next events come around. Your children are welcome to come see you after a race but they need to return to DP as soon as possible and not later than 5 events before their next race.

11 & OVER SWIMMERS - These swimmers have the freedom to roam during the meet, but it is a BIG responsibility keeping track of meet progression and lining themselves up for their own events. 11&O swimmers need to take this responsibility seriously, we DO NOT want to be chasing them down before their events and no one likes to see an empty spot in a lane that should be filled!

ORDER OF EVENTS - This season the 6&U backstroke events have officially been moved to the early half of the meet and will be swam following the completion of the 15-18 50 yd Freestyle event (#24) and prior to the start of 7-8 25 yd Butterfly event. 6&U swimmers are welcome to leave after they finish their events.
