Meet # 3: Peace Haven vs Clemmons West @ HOME - Thursday, June 15th

MEET THEME: LUAU! Swimmers and volunteers will receive a lei upon arrival but everyone is welcome to add more to their attire…..grass skirt, Hawaiian shirt, etc.

Ok Dolphins! We have invited the Aqua Demons to our pool! Aqua Demons!? Aqua Demons, NOT to be confused with our Demon Deacons!! Ha! NO, not the Black and Gold Deacons. The Aqua Demons are actually blue. However, they are also NOT the Blue Dolphins.

What is an Aqua Demon? Well, Poseidon was the Lord of the Sea. I am sure he could swim, however not known for speed or being a demon. There is Ursula from the Little Mermaid. She was a Cecailian Sea Witch who tricked Ariel the Little Mermaid. She was a villain and also not known for speed. History ( and Disney) is not showing us that an Aqua Demon is faster than a Dolphin. It does remind us, yet again, how great the Dolphin family is!!

So, get your goggles, your caps and your suits ready for another great night of swimming!

4:00 PM Dolphin/Pod volunteers, Lead Set-up and coaches arrive and start setting up!

HEAT SHEET - The Heat Sheet and Meet Entries will be posted as soon as they are available on Thursday (hopefully close to 12:00 PM). The Heat Sheet will be sent by email, available on the Meet & Events page, and on the SwimTopia App. An alert notification will be sent once available.

VOLUNTEERS - We are still in need of many volunteers! Please sign up! When you arrive, check-in with Courtney Beaudry at our volunteer table.

PARKING - As you know, our parking is limited. You are welcome to drop swimmers off once our lot is full, but will then need to park on the street. PLEASE park on the POOL SIDE only of Hearthside Drive. No cars are allowed to park on the opposite side of Hearthside for safety reasons. Thank you!

ARRIVAL - Lead set-up and anyone who is available to assist with set-up, please arrive at 4:00. Also Dolphin Pod (Clerk of Course) volunteers should plan to arrive by 4:00 PM to set up our Dolphin Pod and greet our 10 & U swimmers. All others should plan to arrive by 4:15 PM to get set up, mark events, etc... If you need help, please seek a veteran parent or Dolphin Pod volunteer. We recommend you Mark Your Simmer prior to arrival to save time. Please mark EHL grid clearly using a Sharpie on your swimmer's arm or leg AND write first initial last name and their age group on the back of their right shoulder.

DECK - Spectator seating is only available on one side of our pool. Traditionally, Peace Haven sets up on the deep end and the visiting team on the shallow end. We will be arriving first, so let’s be hospitable and make sure to share the deck space. Please bring extra chairs.

OFFICIALS & TIMERS - There will be a stroke and turn/timers meeting at 5:15pm at the corner of the shallow end of the pool near the restrooms.

DOLPHIN DOLLARS - New this year, heat winners in individual events will receive a “Dolphin Dollar” that they can redeem at the Snack Shack for a prize!

PLAYGROUND - The playground is open for use during the meet but is unsupervised. Parents are advised to monitor as necessary. The baby pool is not open for swimming.

CONCESSIONS - Hamburgers and grilled chicken sandwiches, chips, drinks, candy and snacks are available at the Snack Shack during the meet. PH members may charge their accounts or pay with cash or Venmo. Sunset Slush will be on deck and accepts cash only.

10 & UNDER SWIMMERS - The Dolphin Pod will be located along the fence at the deep end of the pool. It will be VERY important to instruct your 10&U swimmers to remain in the Dolphin Pod with their assigned parent volunteer so they can easily be found when their next events come around. They’ll be assisted to Clerk of Course benches and lined up there for events. Your children are welcome to come see you after a race but they need to return to DP as soon as possible and not later than 5 events before their next race.

11 & OVER SWIMMERS - Please remind your 11&O swimmers that they are responsible for keeping track of the meet and getting themselves to their event, heat and lane ON TIME. Our Starter will not hold up the meet for them. Coaches are positioned at each PH lane to instruct and cheer for swimmers and can’t be chasing down missing swimmers.

CLEAN UP - Many hands make light work! At the conclusion of the last event we will ask Dolphins and their parents to help clean up. Moving chairs, picking up trash, etc. The Pizza Party will not start until the deck is put back in order. THANK YOU!

After Party with Pizza for Dolphins!!

We will have our pizza party in the shelter after the meet. It is $5 per person, $20 family max. Jill Johnson is our Pizza Planner! You can prepay her Venmo - @ccjjohnson - and she will take cash and Venmo on Thursday until 7:00PM. This is a lot of fun for our swimmers!! We hope you will stay and enjoy!
