PRACTICE FRIDAY 6/21

Even though we will have many swimmers participating in City Meet we will still hold practice as usual on Friday morning.

COACH FRANCES ON VACATION

We wanted to give everyone a heads up that Coach Frances will be out of town next week so our Assistant Head Coaches Micah and Emma will be leading the charge at practices and our first away meet.

MEET @ SHERWOOD SHARKS on THURSDAY 6/27

Declare your swimmer ATTENDING or NOT ATTENDING as soon as possible and by SUNDAY 6/23 at 12:00 PM at the latest. It would help Coach Frances if you can declare ASAP.

Since it is an AWAY meet we have need of fewer volunteers, but many spots remain open in clerk of course. Please sign up to volunteer!

SPECIAL PRACTICE FRIDAY 6/28

We have invited our former coach, Kristy Ernst, to lead practice!

We will have this modified schedule:

8:30-9:00 6&U - normal practice

9:00-10:00 7-10 - focus on turns and IM transitions

10:00-11:00 11&O - focus on turns and IM transitions

No Stroke Clinic on Saturday 6/29 as originally scheduled

FINALS

GFSL Finals are on July 15th at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. While this can be logistically challenging considering that the meet consists of 2 sessions on a Monday, we want to encourage ALL Dolphins families to be available to participate. It is a GREAT experience swimming with all teams in our league at a world-class facility. And no matter the weather - even with thunder - the meet will go on at the GAC!

Sometimes families are hesitant because of work/transportation issues. We assure you that with a team our size, we can network and find a way to get your kids safely to and from the GAC.

Every team is allowed 3 swimmers in each individual event and two relays per event. Even if you don’t think your child “will qualify” for Finals, we ask that you PLEASE make your swimmer available to swim. We need many swimmers to fill out our relays and have alternate spots. More information about Finals will be coming soon.

Save the Date for July 16th 6:00-9:00 pm! Dinner, dessert, awards and swimming at the pool! We will keep the pool open an extra hour for swim team only: parent/family/coach relays and games!
