Meet #4: Peace Haven @ Sherwood Thursday, June 27th

This is our first AWAY meet this season! Please carefully read the information in this email so you are prepared for a great evening!

Another great swim meet awaits! On Tuesday we will travel to meet the Sherwood Sharks in their waters. Sharks. Yes, sharks. Sharks do not sleep, they eat everything, and they get an entire week (sometimes more) on the National Geographic Channel. We need to remember these sharks are our friends. They love to swim against us and they will want to win! They will wear shirts that say "shark week is every week". Dolphins, let's show them how strong the Peace Haven Dolphins really are! Get those goggles, suits, and smiles and be ready for Thursday!

LOCATION - The Sherwood pool address is 1199 Fenimore St. DO NOT FOLLOW GOOGLE MAPS: Instead take Hawthorne Rd to Fenimore Street OR Miller Street to Elgin Road to Fenimore St.

PARKING - Sherwood has an upper lot which is reserved for coaches and officials. They have a lower lot which is small and fills quickly. When parking along Fenimore St. make sure that you do NOT block any driveways.

ARRIVAL - Dolphin Pod (Clerk of Course) volunteers should plan to arrive by 4:30 PM to set up our Dolphin Pod and greet our 10 & U swimmers. All others should plan to arrive by 4:45 PM to get set up, mark events, etc... If you need help, please seek a veteran parent or Dolphin Pod volunteer. We recommend you Mark Your Simmer prior to arrival to save time.

SEATING - Our team can be set up on the far side of the pool as well as on the grassy hill and in the "pit" area which is more shaded. There is an opening in the fence on the other side of the pump house to get from the "pit" to the starting area. You are welcome to bring tents for shade. The baby pool is closed during the meet.

VOLUNTEERS - We are still in need of Dolphin Pod volunteers! Even though we are at another pool, please check-in at our volunteer table when you arrive.

HEAT SHEET - The Heat Sheet and Meet Entries will be sent out by email as soon as they are available on Thursday (hopefully close to 12:00 PM).

10 & UNDER SWIMMERS - Once we arrive and set up the Dolphin Pod we will let you know where to send your children. At AWAY meets it is even more important to make sure that 10&U swimmers remain in the Dolphin Pod with their assigned parent volunteer so they can easily be found when their next events come around.

11 & OVER SWIMMERS - Please remind your 11&O swimmers that they are responsible for keeping track of the meet and getting themselves to their event, heat and lane ON TIME. The Sherwood Starter will want to run a fast meet and will not wait for swimmers!

HEAT WINNERS -Sherwood hands out prizes to heat winners as swimmers finish heats.

CONCESSIONS -The Shark Shack is open and will serve burgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, french fries, drinks, iccees- cash and cards accepted. They also have a vending machine for candy. Cash only.
