Meet # 6: Peace Haven @ New Sherwood - Tuesday, July 9th

Pool Address: 4600 Fernmarch Dr, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.

The New Sherwood Stingrays…for the seasoned Dolphins, you may remember, for our new Dolphin members, well, we need to share the history. They are our neighbors, they are our friends, they live just across the way and they wear red. Lots of red.

Stingrays have a wide wingspan and stingers. Dolphins are strong, strong swimmers!! Everyone wants to swim with Dolphins. We do have a wonderful history with these wide-winged stingers and it will be a fun night! 

Both of these teams show up READY TO RACE and WANTING TO WIN! Get ready Peace Haven Dolphins!! We are a team, we are a family, we show up with great sportsmanship and let’s work for that WIN!!

4:30 PM Dolphins Arrive!

5:15 PM Timer and Stroke & Turn Meeting (in circle drive out front)

5:25 PM PH and NS SENIORS will be honored

5:30 PM Meet start

MEET THEME - NEON! NS will be passing out 400 glow sticks and hopes we will join in the neon festivities. We know the Heckmans - our 2023 neon costume winners - will be ready!

PARKING - NS has limited parking in the lot connected to the pool grounds, but otherwise the majority of parking is available in the grass lot across the street from the pool. No parking is allowed on Fernmarch street. Please follow any “no parking” signs.

SEATING - Peace Haven will be set up on the shallow end of the pool near the baby pool. We will bring 3 team tents and welcome you to bring additional tents. Be sure to bring your own chairs. We are not allowed to use the tennis courts for any reason, nor are we allowed to use the shallow pool, baby pool, or diving well at any time during the meet. Please prevent your children from doing so.

DOLPHIN POD - The deck will be packed so we will set up our clerk of course for younger swimmers on the playground area next to the tennis court (New Sherwood will have a sign designating the area).

CONCESSIONS - Concessions will be set up in the circle drive next to the pool entrance gate. They will be selling hot dogs and other concessions. Sunset Slush will also be on premises next to the tennis courts. NS will also be passing out Stingray Bucks to any heat winner. These have a value of $.25 and can be used at the concessions stand.

AFTER THE MEET - NS will be screening CARS on their projector on the playground at the end of the meet. We will also be having Papa John’s pizza delivered at the end of the meet. You can pre-pay/pre-order on THIS google form. Orders due by 6 PM TODAY (Monday 7/8). Bring chairs, blankets, etc for watching the movie. This is a fun tradition and we hope many Dolphins will be able to stay!
