Meet on Tuesday vs Waterford
Meet #2: Peace Haven vs Waterford @ HOME - Tuesday, June 10th
* For those who are new to the team, please visit these pages on our website to learn more: Swim Meet 101, How to Read a Heat Sheet and Marking up Your Swimmer for Meets.
MEET THEME: CRAZY HAT! Swimmers and volunteers, show your team spirit and come decked out in your best hat…..get creative! A prize will be given to the best dressed Dolphin!
Stingrays are actually fish, they may not look like other fish, yet they are. They have wide flat bodies and move very differently through the water. With their shape, stingrays look to “fly” through the water. Their bodies are mostly cartilage and do not have bones.
Dolphins, well, we know they are strong. Dolphins are at the top of the food chain, at least the ones at sea! They live in groups and are very social. Dolphins communicate with others and stay with their families.
Tomorrow night, we will welcome the Stingrays to our waters. We had a strong meet last week and faced the Sharks great strength! The Waterford Stingrays will join us for another fun night of swimming. They may be large and may be fast, that is fine. The Peace Haven Dolphins will show them OUR strong, fun, fast family!! Be ready for another great night at the pool! And remember our great sportsmanship and have fun!
4:00 PM Dolphin/Pod volunteers, Lead Set-up and coaches arrive and start setting up!

IMPORTANT - Second half volunteers should come to this meeting. If you cannot make it you must check-in with Stacy Bachmann (Referee) before the second half.
5:30 PM Meet start
HEAT SHEET - The Heat Sheet and Meet Entries will be sent out on Tuesday afternoon.
VOLUNTEERS - We have several volunteer positions that need to be filled so if you are available, please sign up! When you arrive, check-in at our volunteer table. You will receive instructions here on how to do your job. Please ask questions if it is your first time doing a job!
PARKING - As you know, our parking is limited. You are welcome to drop swimmers off once our lot is full, but will then need to park on the street. PLEASE park on the POOL SIDE only of Hearthside Drive. Also, do not park in the NO PARKING area between our entrance and exit gates.
ARRIVAL - Unless you are a Dolphin Pod volunteer, plan to arrive by 4:15 PM to get set up, mark events, etc... If you need help, please seek a veteran parent or Dolphin Pod volunteer. We recommend you Mark Your Swimmer prior to arrival to save time.
DECK - Remember: Peace Haven takes the deep end half (including the 3 rows of round tables that go from the chairs toward the shelter) and we give the shallow end half (including 2 rows of round tables and the picnic tables alongside the Baby Pool) to the visiting team. We will be arriving first, so let’s be hospitable and make sure to share the deck space. Please bring extra chairs. The Baby Pool will be closed.
10 & UNDER SWIMMERS - The Dolphin Pod will be located along the fence at the deep end of the pool.
IMPORTANT: Instruct your 10&U swimmers to remain in the Dolphin Pod with their assigned parent volunteer throughout the meet so they can easily be found when their next events come around.
11 & OVER SWIMMERS - These swimmers have graduated from the Dolphin Pod and are responsible for lining themselves up for their own events. 11&Over swimmers need to take this responsibility seriously, we DO NOT want to be chasing them down before their events!
* Let’s encourage good sportsmanship! Remind your Dolphin to stay in the water and shake hands with the other team at the end of the race. Let’s cheer for EVERYONE and never put others down - including our competitors.
PLAYGROUND - The playground is open for use during the meet but is unsupervised. Parents are advised to monitor as necessary. The baby pool is not open for swimming.
CONCESSIONS - Hamburgers, chips, drinks, candy and snacks are available at the Snack Shack during the meet. PH members may charge their accounts or pay with cash or Venmo. Sunset Slush will be set up on the grass outside the entrance and prefers cash but accepts cash app, card, Venmo and Apple Pay. Price is $5 for 2 scoops and $10 for a full koozie. If you bought a koozie last year, bring it and you can reuse it for $1 per scoop.
CLEAN UP - At the conclusion of the last event we need ALL Dolphins and their parents to help clean up. Moving chairs, picking up trash, etc. The Pizza Party will not start until the deck is put back in order. THANK YOU!
PIZZA PARTY - We will have our pizza party in the shelter after the meet. It is $5 per person, $20 family max. Jill Johnson is our Pizza Planner! You can prepay her Venmo - @ccjjohnson - and she will take cash and Venmo on Tuesday until 7:00PM. We hope you will stay and enjoy!
