Hard to believe we are over half-way through our season with 5 weeks of practice and 4 dual meets behind us!! Only 3 weeks left. The season goes fast and we have a LOT of important things coming up next week AND beyond! Please read this email!!

PRACTICE FRIDAY 6/20

Even though we will have many swimmers participating in City Meet we will still hold practice as usual on Friday morning.

CITY MEET

Spectators are welcome and there is no fee. Come watch your teammates, coaches, and former coaches Frances and Micah swim in the afternoon session! Open Medley Relay at 3:00, Open 50 Free at 3:30, Mixed Open Free Relay 4:30, Mixed Open Medley Relay at 6:00, Open Free Relay at 7:45, plus lots of events in between. And the pool is open for swimming!

DOLPHIN-SQUAD MEET #2 on TUESDAY 6/24

We have had requests to add EXTRA EVENTS to the end of the meet so have changed the timeframe of the meet as follows:

• Arrival - 6:00 PM
• Warm up - 6:15 APM
• Timers/S&T meeting - 6:15 PM
• Meet start - 6:30 PM
• Extra Events - 8:00 PM
• Cookies for all - 8:30 PM

Even though this is not a dual meet we still need you to Declare your swimmer ATTENDING or NOT ATTENDING by SATURDAY 6/23 at 12:00 PM. We are in good shape with volunteers - thank you!

EXTRA EVENTS - Fill out this SURVEY so we have an idea of who wants to swim extra relays and adult races. The HEAT SHEET will come out on Monday at noon and will not include extra events - just be ready! Volunteers check-in when you arrive. Thank you!

TYDE STROKE CLINIC on SATURDAY 6/28

The Y’s competitive swim team will come to Peace Haven to offer a free clinic for our Dolphins.

• 8:30-9:15 AM 7-10 yo - focus will be on breaststroke and butterfly
• 9:15-10:00 AM 11&O - focus will be on turns and breaststroke/butterfly

Register by Friday 6/27 at NOON if your swimmer would like to attend.

FINALS

GFSL Finals are on Sunday, July 13th at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. While this can be logistically challenging considering that the meet consists of 2 sessions, we want to encourage ALL Dolphins families to be available to participate. It is a GREAT experience swimming with all teams in our league at a world-class facility. And no matter the weather - even with thunder - the meet will go on at the GAC!

Every team is allowed 3 swimmers in each individual event and two relays per event. Even if you don’t think your child “will qualify” for Finals, we ask that you PLEASE make your swimmer available to swim. We need many swimmers to fill out our relays and have alternate spots. More information about Finals will be coming soon.

END OF SEASON PARTY

Save the Date for July 14th 6:00-9:00 PM. Dinner, dessert, awards and swimming at the pool! We will keep the pool open an extra hour for swim team only! The RSVP and job sign up is now open!
