Week Ahead 6/4
With our first meet behind us, we're off to a great start and building momentum! Next week promises to be a fun one as we head to Waterford for our first away meet of the season.
Before we get there, we have a few important items to cover: a stroke clinic on Friday, City Meet sign-ups, and newly posted meet photos. This is a longer email than usual, but please take a few minutes to read through it so you don't miss any important information!
STROKE CLINIC FRIDAY JUNE 5, so NO REGULAR PRACTICE
There will be three sessions - 8:00-8:30 (6&U) 8:30-9:15 AM (7-10 YO) & 9:15-10:00 AM (11&O) - and a limited number of spots to allow for the best learning experience.
Kristy graciously agreed to offer a 6 and Under Session, so we just added that to our SwimTopia Site
Since we are hosting a stroke clinic we will not have regular Friday morning practice.
REGISTER by Thursday 6/4 at 7:00pm if your swimmer would like to attend.
MEET @ WATERFORD TUESDAY 6/9
Declare your swimmer IN or OUT TODAY! It will help our coaches tremendously if they know whether your child is available to swim as we go into the weekend You can go ahead and do this for every meet
We are still in need of a few volunteers for Tuesday. Please consider signing up if you are able.
CITY MEET
SIGN UP for CITY MEET and ORDER YOUR T-SHIRT by TUESDAY, JUNE 9th.
THEME: MONSTERS INC.
WHEN: Friday, June 19th
- 10 and under - Warm up at 8:00 AM. Meet starts at 9:30 AM.
- 11 and over (this means parents too) - Warm up at 1:00 PM. Meet starts at 2:45 PM.
WHERE: Bolton Park Pool - the pool is set up with a competition section and the rest of the pool is open for swimming!
WHO: EVERYONE! Swimmers, coaches and parents are welcome to swim!
All teams in the area and individual swimmers are welcome to enter so this is a great chance to race friends from all over Winston-Salem who you might not race in a dual meet. This is great preparation for Finals! And it is super fun with decorated tents and costumes.
Each swimmer may choose up to 4 individual events. You get to pick your favorites! Coaches will enter swimmers in up to 2 relays.
NEW THIS YEAR: Your total payment of $40 which includes an athlete surcharge per swimmer and event fees. PHCA covers relay entry fees. You will need to go to the team store to pay for City Meet and t-shirts, if you would like them.
Note: For adults interested in swimming in the City Meet, please email [email protected] with your name and birthday so we can enter you into the system since you aren't on our team roster.
TEAM PICTURES
A huge thank you to Amy and Max McCabe for taking on the challenging and time-consuming role of team photographers! Photos can be viewed on our SwimTopia site under 2026 Photos. The McCabes have uploaded team photos, as well as pictures from the Dolphin-Squad and Brookberry meets.
Please note that these images are available exclusively to team members. We kindly ask everyone to be mindful and respectful when sharing photos to help protect the privacy of our swimmers and families.
GO DOLPHINS!
