Meet #2: Peace Haven @ Waterford Tuesday 6/9

This is our first AWAY meet this season! Please carefully read the information in this email so you are prepared for a great evening!

ARRIVAL - Waterford has asked us to not arrive before 4:30. Even though you may be eager to claim a place to sit, please respect this request.

• 4:30 PM Coaches, Dolphin Pod Volunteers and Volunteer check-in arrive to set up
• 4:45 PM Dolphins arrive - Mark Your Simmer prior to arrival to save time
• 5:05-5:20 PM Dolphins Warm Up
• 5:15 PM Timer and Stroke & Turn Meeting
• 5:30 PM Meet start

PARKING - We have been asked to park first in the grassy area and then overflow to the North side of Slane Road (opposite of the pool gravel parking lot—using the side without traffic cones) or the East side of Glengarriff Rd (noted on the parking map). Please respect homeowners yards and do not park too close to driveways and stop signs. There will be parking attendants present to help keep the traffic flowing and the parking organized. PARKING MAP ATTACHED.

SEATING - Our team has been asked to set up near the diving board. There will be limited chairs so please bring your own folding chairs. Peace Haven will bring tents for Dolphin Pod but we would invite families to bring their own to provide shade for spectators and older swimmers.

VOLUNTEERS - We are still in need of a 7-8 boys Dolphin Pod volunteer! If you are interested in learning how to score - veteran Ashley Hooker can teach you during the first half. Even though we are at another pool, please check-in at our volunteer table when you arrive.

HEAT SHEET - The Heat Sheet will be sent out by email as soon as they are available on Tuesday (hopefully by 12:00 PM)

10 & UNDER SWIMMERS - Once we arrive and set up the Dolphin Pod we will let you know where to send your children. At AWAY meets it is even more important to make sure that 10&U swimmers remain in the Dolphin Pod with their assigned parent volunteer so they can easily be found when their next events come around.

11 & OVER SWIMMERS - Please remind your 11&O swimmers that they are responsible for keeping track of the meet and getting themselves to their event, heat and lane ON TIME.

WEATHER - In the unfortunate event of lightening, EVERYONE must evacuate the pool AND pool deck. All swimmers and families must wait in their vehicles until we get an all-clear from the Waterford guards.

Per GFSL rules, If a meet has progressed past the halfway point (event #42) and cannot resume that evening, then a meet can be “called” as final. If it has not reached halfway, then it will be rescheduled for another evening - likely Wednesday. We will send updates on weather delays via Swimtopia ALERT.

FOOD - Waterford pool concessions will be open with a variety of snacks/drinks/ice cream treats. They will also be selling both cheese and pepperoni pizzas from Mediterraneo ($20 for a whole pie or $3/slice). They accept both cash and Venmo for payment for our concessions—however, please note: the pool concessions uses a different Venmo than our team, so pizza purchases will be separate transaction.
